Learning through play

There are so many ways to explore numbers with this pack! Each activity encourages children to investigate numbers through simple, hands-on challenges.

  • Pick it: Choose a number card at random. Can your child recognise and name the number?

  • Write it: Write the chosen number in the 'my number' box.

  • Explore it: Find one more and one less than the chosen number. Use the number line to help discover which numbers come before and after.

  • Make it: Use pom poms, counters, playdough or other small objects to represent the number, practising careful counting and one-to-one correspondence.

  • Find it: Locate the number on the number line and explore its position in the number sequence.

  • Subitise it: Use the dot cards to practise recognising small quantities without counting each individual dot.

  • Explore place value: Combine dot cards to investigate how teen numbers are made from one ten and some extra ones. Can your child make 14 using 10 dots and 4 more?

These playful activities help children develop number recognition, counting confidence, number sense and an early understanding of place value.

Please note: This is a digital download containing printable activity sheets, number cards, dot cards and an information sheet. No physical product will be posted. Once purchased, you'll receive a secure download link, which remains valid for 24 hours after your first download.
